Aikido Demonstrations by Sensei KolesnikovSensei Kolesnikov has produced 3 short video clips whilst demonstrating Aikido to prospective students at a course. Demonstration Video 1 (7 minutes) Sensei Kolesnikov introduces the demonstration. He shows rolling techniques with selected black belts, and shows one example of a Ki exercise: When he's tense, the partners can lift him up. When he's relaxed and focussed, he is unraisable.
Demonstration Video 2 (9 minutes) Sensei Kolesnikov demonstrates some techniques against punching attacks and holds, throwing or immobilising the attacker to neutralise the attack. He also shows a demonstration using a wooden sword, and defends against an attacker with the sword.
Demonstration Video 3 (8 minutes) Sensei Kolesnikov shows defences against a stick (Jo). Don't blink at the 2-minute-in part! He then invites the 3 black belts to continuously attack him for 2 minutes, and he shows how to safely evade the attacks, whilst keeping calm and relaxed. Note the skill involved in not throwing the attackers into the wall or each other. Play the video below, or click here to play from YouTube.
